In it for the long road
From Olympic gold to weekend rides, women’s cycling continues its rise. Learn how EF Pro Cycling’s “one team” approach and our Femmes tours help turn inspiration into participation.
From growing numbers of women out on their bikes every weekend across the US to the ever-expanding representation of female riders at the pro tour’s biggest events—women’s cycling continues to break new ground.
In March 2025, history was made when both men and women lined up for Milan-San Remo—only the seventh time in the race’s 118-year history. After many false dawns, this edition marked the start of a bright future for women’s cycling.

“Having Milano-Sanremo added to the calendar just furthers the legitimacy and professionalization that’s happening in women’s sports. I’m really excited that I can be part of the first edition and part of the bigger movement that’s much greater than any individual’s performance on the bike.”
- Kristen Faulkner 2x Olympic Gold medalist & EF Pro Cycling rider

At EF Adventures, we believe adventure is for everyone, however you choose to move, and we’re proud to support the growing movement of women in cycling at all levels of the sport, helping to turn inspiration into participation and participation into inspiration.
From our efforts to bring cycling fans closer to the action as both amateur riders and spectators, through our EF Adventures Biking tours at the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. An event that continues to push the sport forward and bring more fans into the world of women’s cycling. To building a different kind of pro team through our “one team” philosophy.

“The way we've decided to approach things at EF Pro Cycling is to not separate resources, not create extremely siloed individual teams [the average siloed Men’s team has a budget 8x higher than the Women’s], but instead actually use the knowledge and the resources of everyone involved to create one team. That team spans all the way from 16-year-olds all the way to top top professionals like Kristen Faulkner or Richard Carapaz, it goes all the way through.”
- Jonathan Vaughters CEO of EF Pro Cycling

At EF Adventures, we’re as committed as ever to getting more women on their bikes than ever before—from the girl dreaming of being the next Kristen Faulkner to the woman rediscovering their love of cycling again on a Biking tour in Italy.

“The only way to really bring gender parity to the sport is to raise the profile and get more people viewing the sport… if I can get more people interested in cycling, I think we can bridge the gender gap.”
- Kristen Faulkner 2x Olypic Gold medalist & EF Pro Cycling rider
The road is long, but we’re riding it together.
