Most adventure companies begin with the activity—the climb, the route, the miles. We began with the culture.
EF Adventures grew out of EF Education First, founded in 1965 on the belief that you truly understand a place by living it, not studying it from a distance. For more than sixty years, that belief has taken millions of people out of the classroom and into the world. With EF Adventures we carry that same spirit forward, just with hiking boots on.
Every hike, ride, and adventure is designed to bring you closer to the people, traditions, and stories that make a place what it is.
The trail we choose doesn't just reach a summit, it reveals a story along the way—led by a guide who grew up on that mountain, not one who learned it from a manual. The meal at the end of the day isn't just a good restaurant—it's the flavors of the landscape you walked through, on a plate. The hotel you return to was chosen because waking up there feels like part of the journey, not a pause from it.
The physical challenge is real. We just make sure everything around it is too.

BORN RESPONSIBLE
When EF Adventures launched in 2024, we had something most new travel companies don't—60 years of knowing what responsible travel actually looks like on the ground. So instead of promising to do better someday, we wove it into everything from the start. The suppliers we chose, the routes we designed, the local communities we built relationships with before a single traveler packed their bag.

THE ULTIMATE PASSION PROJECT
EF has spent sixty years taking people deeper into the world. But ask anyone who works here what they did on the weekend—the answer was never sitting still. Hiking the trails above our Zurich HQ. Putting in miles on the climbs outside Denver. Exploring New England's coastline by foot, bike, or paddle. So when we built EF Adventures, nobody needed a brief. Our trip designers, Tour Directors, and guides already knew where to start. Combining active travel with cultural learning wasn't a new idea. It was just what we did on our days off. We were already living it. EF Adventures was the natural next step.
WE OWN A PRO CYCLING TEAM
EF Pro Cycling is the only team owned by a travel company. For travelers on our Biking tours, that means pro-designed routes, pro-ridden gear, and on select experiences—it's what makes our Biking tours genuinely different—a front-row seat to pro races.

Get closer to the race
Most people watch the Tour de France from a roadside barrier or follow the Strade Bianche on a screen. Our tours put you inside both—on the race routes, at the finishes, and closer to the action than any general ticket allows. The partnership runs deeper than route design.
