Conquer the Tour de France’s most epic mountains

Take on cycling’s most legendary climbs from Provence to the French Alps on this shorter Tour de France adventure that captures the race’s most iconic moments. You’ll start in Provence, riding through lavender-scented valleys and tackling Mt. Ventoux’s slopes before heading north to the Alpe d’Huez region. There you’ll ride the wild Col de la Sarenne before its Tour de France debut in Stage 20, then tackle the main event: Stage 19’s course up Alpe d’Huez's famous 21 hairpins ahead of the peloton, with the road closed to traffic and thousands of fans cheering you on. When you’re not pushing your limits on these iconic roads, you’ll enjoy exclusive race access that goes beyond standard spectating: tour the EF Pro Cycling Team bus at the Stage 17 Starting Village in Chambéry and ride across the finish line to take podium photos before Stage 19 atop Alpe d'Huez. With Provençal wine tastings at a historic Châteauneuf-du-Pape château, Alpine vistas that stretch to the horizon, and the chance to ride roads reserved exclusively for cyclists and the world's greatest race, this is your opportunity to become part of Tour de France history in one unforgettable week.

Provence region

Day 2: Arrival in Marseille & transfer to the Provence region

Included meal: Welcome dinner

After landing in Marseille, you'll journey north into Provence, a region where Roman history meets cycling paradise. Rolling hills draped in vineyards, medieval villages perched on limestone outcrops, and endless lavender fields have made this corner of France a favorite among cyclists—and it's easy to see why. The light here is spectacular, inspiring everyone from van Gogh to Cézanne, and the roads weave through a landscape that's both gentle and challenging, perfect for building your legs before the Alps. Your base for the next three nights puts you within striking distance of some of the region's most celebrated climbs and vineyards.

  • Transfer to your hotel in the Provence region (about 1–1.5 hours) and settle in.
  • Raise a glass of beer or wine while you get to know your fellow riders and Tour Directors during a Welcome Orientation.
