Conquer the Tour de France’s most epic mountains

Take on cycling’s most legendary climbs from Provence to the French Alps on this shorter Tour de France adventure that captures the race’s most iconic moments. You’ll start in Provence, riding through lavender-scented valleys and tackling Mt. Ventoux’s slopes before heading north to the Alpe d’Huez region. There you’ll ride the wild Col de la Sarenne before its Tour de France debut in Stage 20, then tackle the main event: Stage 19’s course up Alpe d’Huez's famous 21 hairpins ahead of the peloton, with the road closed to traffic and thousands of fans cheering you on. When you’re not pushing your limits on these iconic roads, you’ll enjoy exclusive race access that goes beyond standard spectating: tour the EF Pro Cycling Team bus at the Stage 17 Starting Village in Chambéry and ride across the finish line to take podium photos before Stage 19 atop Alpe d'Huez. With Provençal wine tastings at a historic Châteauneuf-du-Pape château, Alpine vistas that stretch to the horizon, and the chance to ride roads reserved exclusively for cyclists and the world's greatest race, this is your opportunity to become part of Tour de France history in one unforgettable week.

Provence region

Day 2: Arrival in Marseille & transfer to the Provence region

Included meal: Welcome dinner

After landing in Marseille, you'll journey north into Provence, a region where Roman history meets cycling paradise. Rolling hills draped in vineyards, medieval villages perched on limestone outcrops, and endless lavender fields have made this corner of France a favorite among cyclists—and it's easy to see why. The light here is spectacular, inspiring everyone from van Gogh to Cézanne, and the roads weave through a landscape that's both gentle and challenging, perfect for building your legs before the Alps. Your base for the next three nights puts you within striking distance of some of the region's most celebrated climbs and vineyards.

Today’s highlights
  • Meet an EF representative at the Marseille airport.
  • Transfer to your hotel in the Provence region (about 1–1.5 hours) and settle in.
  • Raise a glass of beer or wine while you get to know your fellow riders and Tour Directors during a Welcome Orientation.
  • Continue mingling with your group during a Welcome Dinner in the Provence region.

Note: Airport transfers are included for travelers who book flights with EF Adventures. If you book your own flights, airport transfers may be available for a fee upon request.

Paris extension

Extend your Tour de France experience with two nights in Paris to witness cycling’s most celebrated finish. Your VIP access continues as you claim premium Grandstand seating on the Champs-Élysées for Stage 21—the iconic finale where champions are crowned and three weeks of racing culminate in a dramatic sprint down the world’s most famous avenue. After watching history unfold before you, you’ll join the EF Pro Cycling team at their exclusive invite-only celebration party, toasting alongside the athletes who’ve just completed cycling’s greatest race. It’s the ultimate ending to a week defined by legendary climbs and insider access that few will ever experience.

Paris

Day 8: Train to Paris

Included meal: Breakfast

After several days of challenging alpine riding, today offers a welcome chance to rest your legs while the scenery shifts from mountain peaks to urban landmarks. Your train journey from Grenoble to Paris takes you across France’s changing landscapes—rolling hills give way to farmland, then gradually to the outskirts of the capital. Once you arrive at Paris Gare de Lyon, you’ll head to your hotel and have the rest of the day to explore the city at your own pace or simply relax and save your energy for tomorrow’s grand finale on the Champs-Élysées.

Today’s highlights
  • Ride a train from Grenoble to Paris, watching France’s landscapes transform outside your window.
  • Settle into your Paris hotel and spend your afternoon as you wish, preparing for tomorrow's Tour de France finale.

Day 9: Montmartre walking tour, Stage 21 viewing on the Champs-Élysées & EF Pro Cycling team party

Included meals: Breakfast, Tasting, Dinner

Today marks the culmination of both your time in France and the Tour de France. In the morning, you'll discover the artistic soul of Paris in Montmartre, a hilltop neighborhood that's been a haven for artists for generations. You'll then witness one of cycling's most iconic spectacles—the Tour's final stage on the Champs-Élysées. Since 1975, this grand finale has transformed Paris's most famous avenue into cycling's most prestigious finish line. From your VIP position, you'll witness cycling history unfold as the peloton races past eight times before the final sprint and podium ceremony. And afterwards, as the sun sets over Paris, you'll join the EF Pro Cycling team to celebrate this magnificent sporting event in style at an exclusive party.

Today’s highlights
  • Follow your Tour Director through Montmartre's winding streets, from the gleaming Sacré-Cœur Basilica to Place du Tertre square, watching artists at work and sampling local delicacies along the way.
  • Experience the Tour de France's grand finale from your VIP position at the Elysée Grandstand, witnessing eight electrifying laps as cyclists sprint down the Champs-Élysées before the historic podium celebration crowns the champions.
  • Cap off your cycling adventure at an EF Pro Cycling team celebration party, mingling with team members and fellow cycling enthusiasts while enjoying appetizers and an open bar.
