Welcome to Ireland! You’ll touch down at Shannon Airport, then meet your fellow travelers and Tour Director before transferring 2 hours to County Kerry to kick off your trip. At the heart of this region is the town of Killarney, where history and nature intertwine. Founded in the 17th century, the town boasts Victorian-era architecture, including the grand Killarney House and Ross Castle on the lake's edge. Surrounding Killarney, the stunning national park unfolds with ancient oak forests, crystal-clear lakes, and the majestic MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountain range. Just wait ’til you see it.

Day 3: Muckross House Lake loop hike & optional pub dinner with music
Included meals: Breakfast, Tasting
Your first full hiking day begins at Muckross House, an elegant 19th-century Victorian mansion set within Killarney National Park—Ireland's oldest protected wilderness. The loop winds past traditional working farms and the atmospheric ruins of Muckross Abbey before threading onto the Muckross Peninsula, where the trail enters Reenadinna Wood. Here, the forest floor is carpeted in emerald moss and ferns, the quiet broken only by red squirrels in the branches above and the occasional glimpse of red deer moving through the trees. Lakeside paths lead to Dinis Cottage, a 200-year-old stone refuge, with a short spur path just behind it to the Meeting of the Waters—where the Upper Lake cascades into the lower loughs. The return follows wooded tracks past Goleen Bay and the all-black Kerry Cow, a breed unique to the Muckross Estate. Back in Killarney, the afternoon is yours—but make sure to find your Tour Director for a scoop at the famous local creamery. In the evening, consider joining the optional pub dinner and live music session for a proper introduction to Irish craic.

- Immerse yourself in Irish culture with an optional evening of traditional music, hearty pub fare, and local craic—or take the night to do as you please.
Day 4: Bolus Head hike on Skellig Ring
Included meal: Breakfast
Today you'll explore the Skellig Ring, a less-traveled but equally stunning route that branches off from the world-famous Ring of Kerry. Your hike sets out from the shores of St. Finian's Bay on one of Ireland's waymarked National Loop walks—signposted circular trails maintained across the country—across one of Ireland's most storied promontories. Bolus Head juts dramatically into the Atlantic between Ballinskelligs and St. Finian's Bays, a windswept peninsula where land meets ocean in a collision of cliff, rock, and endless sky. The trail climbs steadily through a landscape etched with ancient field systems and early Christian antiquities, passing scattered ruins that speak to centuries of settlement on this remote corner of Kerry. At the summit stands the impressive ruin of a British-built signal tower—one of the largest constructed during the early 19th century when Napoleon's threat loomed across these waters—with panoramic views sweeping across the Iveragh Peninsula and out to the wild Atlantic beyond, including the shapely Skellig Islands in the distance.

County Mayo2 nights
Day 5: Lunch and visit at Ashford Castle & travel to County Mayo
Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Trade the wild coastlines of County Kerry for the refined elegance of Ashford Castle, a 13th-century fortress turned luxury hotel. Once owned by the Guinness family, it’s welcomed royalty and celebrities throughout its history. Set on 350 acres along Lough Corrib, the castle blends medieval charm with modern luxury, its stone towers and turrets offering a glimpse into Ireland's aristocratic past. Not a bad place for lunch and a stroll, huh? You're now in County Mayo, a region known for its rugged Atlantic coastline and rich Gaelic culture.
- Travel from your hotel in County Kerry to Ashford Castle, an 800-year-old fortress on the shores of Lough Corrib.
- Indulge in a sumptuous lunch at the castle before exploring the magnificent estate gardens.
- Take a short bus ride to Westport in County Mayo, known for its Georgian architecture and lively music scene, and enjoy dinner with your crew.
Day 6: Croaghaun summit hike & Achill Island pub lunch
Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Liquor tasting
Today you'll explore a true jewel of Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way: Achill Island, the largest of Ireland's offshore territories and a testament to the power of the Atlantic. Your hike begins at Lough Acorrymore and climbs steadily toward the summit of Croaghaun—Achill Island's highest peak at 2,192 feet—traversing diagonally across the mountain's face before reaching the saddle between its twin peaks. From here, the Croaghaun Cliffs drop 2,257 feet straight into the churning Atlantic below, the highest sea cliffs in Ireland. Keem Bay curves in a perfect crescent far below, its golden strand framed by those sheer cliff walls. The descent offers two routes: one passes the haunting wreckage of an old plane crash; the other drops past the Mermaid's Looking Glass, a glacial tarn cradled in a rocky hollow whose still waters reflect the sky above. A late pub lunch in Dooagh follows, complete with an Irish coffee tasting.

- Head back to your hotel and venture out for a free evening of live music and pub hopping (two pubs in one day is more than appropriate in Ireland).
Connemara region2 nights
Day 7: Croagh Patrick hike & sheep farm visit with lunch
Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Today you'll say goodbye to County Mayo and take on the summit of Croagh Patrick, named after one of Ireland's patron saints. In 441 CE, Saint Patrick reportedly fasted here for 40 days while spreading Christianity across Ireland—a story that has drawn pilgrims along this ancient route for over 1,500 years. Your hike begins at the Croagh Patrick Visitor Centre, climbing gradually through fields before the terrain grows steeper and more technical, with loose rocks underfoot as you approach the summit. Those opting for the shorter route will hike partway up before turning back, while those tackling the full ascent will push to the summit for sweeping views of Clew Bay—a natural harbor dotted with dozens of small islands—and the surrounding countryside. After your hike, you'll journey into the Connemara region and stop at Glen Keen Farm, where a skilled sheepdog demonstration brings Ireland's sheep farming traditions to life before a traditional lunch.

Day 8: Lower and Upper Diamond Hills hike & Kylemore Abbey visit
Included meals: Breakfast, Farewell dinner
Your journey comes to a close today in the Connemara region, where Ireland's untamed beauty takes center stage. Your hike through Connemara National Park begins on the Lower Diamond Hill trail, a gentle loop with sweeping views of the Atlantic coastline and the offshore islands of Inishturk, Inishbofin, and Inishshark. Those opting for the shorter route will complete the Lower trail loop and head back to the visitor center. Those continuing will transition onto the Upper Diamond Hill trail, where the path narrows along a striking quartzite ridge toward the summit at 1,434 feet—with Kylemore Lough cradled in the valley below, the jagged Twelve Bens rising to the south, and the Atlantic stretching westward in every direction. After your hike, you'll visit the iconic Kylemore Abbey before gathering for one final dinner with your fellow hikers.
